Hiding Place Concerns

My mother, my dad and Matt's mom all seemed concerned about Hodge hiding in the dryer. I feel like I need to give an update on this post. Hodge has not got back in the dryer since that day. I did not make a big deal out of it because I thought if I did he would continue to hide in the dyer. My mom was really worried about Hodge getting in dryer and not being able to get out. The photos really bothered my dad and Matt's mom asked me if I was worried about him getting in the dryer. I am a laid back mom on somethings and then I can be completely over protective. For some reason I was not to worried about Hodge hiding in the dryer. Maybe I should have been? No worries, Hodge is not interested in playing this game anymore, he has moved on. I hope the grandparents don't worry about this hiding place. I wanted to share this photos from two years ago when he was 7 months old. This was an incident where he could not get out and needed my help!

I took this photos of Hodge two years ago on March 25, 2009. He slid his little body under the ottoman and could not get out. Poor baby, I had to take a photo before I came to his rescue.

Hiding Place

Sunday morning Hodge found a new hiding place, the dryer. He always hides in the pantry in the laundry room. When I walked in there to find him he was not in his normal hiding place. I walked back into the kitchen but he was no where to be found. I knew that he had gone into the laundry room but I was thinking, did he run past me in the kitchen and I did not see him? It took me a minute to figure out that he was in the dryer. I could see the dryer door moving. He had it cracked open so he could look for me coming. He thought it was funny when I finally found him! Hodge has not got back in the dryer, I guess he is looking for the next hiding place. I need to be on my toes, Hodge is getting better at hiding!

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Matt turned 36 on March 18th!
This is what I posted on facebook on his birthday.

Happy Birthday to my husband, Matthew Alan Hunter! You are a wonderful dad and a great husband who always supports me. I love you because you are the kind of person who does not take any bs from anyone, you tell it like it is, you could care less what others think but you are always kind and generous to others in need. Happy Birthday to a wonderful man!

We had a steak dinner at home for his birthday. I got the steaks from the Angelo State University Meat Market. This meat market is run by the students in the Meat and Food Science program in the Agriculture department. They do everything from harvesting the meat at the ASU ranch to processing the meat products and then selling it in the store. The steaks were great! Matt enjoyed his birthday dinner at home with our little family.

After dinner Hodge helped Matt blowout the candles on his birthday cake!

Luck of the Irish!

On Saint Patrick's Day we had green ice cream from Chick-fil-a. They were giving free green ice cream to anyone who said, "I need some luck of the Irish" when you placed your order.  Hodge enjoyed his green ice cream cone! We hope everyone had a Happy St. Patty's Day!

Spring Break at the Lake

We went to the Lake Friday, March 11 to get away for a few days. My nieces were also going to be at the lake for Spring Break so we wanted to spend some time with them. We did not do to much but that was the purpose of the long weekend. Saturday Hodge played with all of his cousins and I watched a lot of TV. Saturday night we had dinner with all of Matt's family to celebrate Aunt Sue's 60th birthday. Sunday Matt, Hodge and I started our morning off by going to church at Lake Leon Baptist Church. We spend so much time at the lake during the summer months that we want to start attending a church while we are there. We spent the rest of the day with all the cousins and aunts. Hodge absolutely loves playing with his cousins. Monday he was not happy about leaving. He loves going to the lake and had the best time with everyone.

Aunt Sue, Hodge, Debbie (Yaya), Summer, Lylah, Aunt LeAnna, Aunt Julianne

I tried to get a photo of Hodge and his first cousins before we left on Monday. He was upset and did not want to take the photo. I love how little Summer is looking at Hodge.

Aunt Stacy's Bridal Shower!

Hodge and I headed down to Devine on Thursday, March 3 to spend the weekend with my family and to attend my sister's bridal shower. Matt took advantage of me being busy with this girly weekend and planned a guys weekend at the lake. Hodge and I arrived in Devine and had a quick dinner with my mom at Bill Miller's before we got back in the car to pick Stacy up from the airport in San Antonio. Hodge was exhausted by this point because he did not sleep the whole way down. On the drive back to Devine from the airport he had all he could take and fell asleep once he saw his aunt Stacy.

On Friday I went shopping by myself at La Cantera in San Antonio! Hodge stayed in Devine and spent the morning at my mom's daycare and with my sister in the afternoon. Before I left I went over to the daycare to asked him if he wanted to go with me. As he was playing in the big sandbox he told me, "No I stay at Memaw's daycare." Then I asked him if he wanted me to buy him anything or if he needed anything, he said, "No I'm fine." I love it when he says that. He will always say I'm fine if you ask him if he needs something and he doesn't. He sounds so cute and grown-up when he says it.

I had a great time shopping by myself. I did some major shopping at Ann Taylor, I got some cute spring cloths and a dress for my sister's wedding. I am her matron of honor and the only brides maid so she let me pick my dress. I found the perfect dress in the exact color she wanted it to be. Then I got a manicure and pedicure. After that I had a late lunch at P. F. Chang's on the patio! I love to eat outside and I like to have lunch by myself every once in a while! I guess I like to be a loner. After my lunch I headed over to The Rim to do some more shopping. I had a fun day but I was ready to get back to Devine to see what my little boy had been up to all day with his Memaw and Aunt Stacy. Stacy said that she tried to make him take a nap but he would not nap for her. No surprise, he never wants to take naps at my parent's house. There is just to much going on! He is either outside with my dad or over at the daycare with my mom.

The next day was my sister's shower. So many of her high school friends came and a lot of our family came who we had not seen in a while. Hodge did not enjoy the shower. It was just to much for him with all of the ladies. It was a good weekend but on Sunday I was ready to head home. Hodge was absolutely exhausted from the weekend and slept all the way home. He woke up once we arrived at our house but he went back to sleep right away after we took him inside. Matt just put Hodge in bed with his cloths on. Hodge woke up at 5:30 a.m. the next morning telling us that he was hungry. The poor kid had not had anything to eat since we left Devine on Sunday. He always plays so hard and has the best time at my parent's house. This time he had an even bigger time because his aunt Stacy was there to play with him.

My granny and I. She looks great for 96.

Yaya's Homemade Suckers!

Debbie came to stay the night with us on Monday, February 28th. She made homemade suckers for Hodge during her visit. Hodge loves suckers! He was not interested in the cooking process but once they were ready he was excited! I think as he gets older he will want to help his Yaya with the process of making them but for now he just likes the end product. On Tuesday he stayed home with Debbie and they enjoyed playing together in the playroom. Thanks Debbie for spending time with us and making Hodge the wonderful suckers!
