Thanksgiving 2009

We spent Thanksgiving with Matt's family this year. Matt's mom and dad always have Thanksgiving at their house. Matt's mom always thinks of everything for the kids. She had a ping pong table, a Wii and Thanksgiving crafts to keep all the kids busy. Hodge had a lot of fun playing with all his cousins.

Hodge playing on his daddy's old rocking horse. All of Matt's family said that they were having flashbacks of Matt as a little boy.

Hodge and Kallie had fun playing all day. This is a flashback to Matt and Shanna.

All of Matt's family.

All the cousins!

A Mommy and Me Trip to Devine, TX

Hodge and I headed down to Devine to spend a few days with my family. Hodge did wonderful on the drive down. He slept a little, watched movies and enjoyed listening to music. The last time we tried driving down without Matt we did not have such a wonderful trip. Now that Hodge is older he travels great and I can make this trip on my own!

Sabrina, Shannon and Danny Joe always come to see Hodge when we are in town. Hodge makes them laugh!

Hodge visited with Lily one day at my Aunt Sondra's house. Lily is my first cousin Brandon's little girl.

Hodge and Lily having fun!

Hodge wanted to take a ride on Danny Joe's Harley. Maybe when your older you can take a ride Hodge.

Having fun with Pawpaw!

Thanksgiving Feast!

Hodge and I were invited to two Thanksgiving Feast!  Thursday, November 19 Kaylee had her Thanksgiving Feast and performance at her preschool. She really wanted her cousin Hodge to come and watch her sing and have lunch with her!

Maggie and Alissa got out of school that morning so they could watch their little sister perform.

On Friday, November 20 Hodge and I headed down to South Texas to visit my family for a few days. On Saturday we attended our second Thanksgiving Feast at my grandmother's assisted living. This was such a neat event for the residents and the families. The food was wonderful and we had a great time.

Last Stop on their Road Trip.

My parents had just been in Midland to see us Halloween weekend but after their road trip they came back by to see Hodge. Midland was their first stop and last stop on their trip. They headed out to Las Vegas so my dad could go to the SEMA show which is a big automotive show. Then they headed even further west out to San Diego, CA to visit my sister. They called Sunday and said that they were headed home and would be in Midland Monday. It is about 150 miles out of the way to come through Midland but they were ready to see Hodge again!

Hodge and Memaw did a little coloring Monday night.

Hodge had fun standing on the box that my new cowgirl boots came in. He thought this was so much fun to show off for Memew and Pawpaw. Notice the new boots. It is hunting season, Matt hunts and I shop a little. My mom made up a song for Hodge last year during deer hunting season when Matt had gone hunting one day and I was shopping. It goes something like this.... Daddy gone a huntin, Mama gone a shoppin, Memaw is keepin me.
I don't know the rest.

Monday night I got Thai food from King and I for everyone. Hodge loves the chicken fried rice and spring rolls.

My parents left Tuesday morning and Hodge was pretty sad to see his Memaw and Pawpaw go.

GMFL Super Bowl

Sunday night Hodge and I went to the Greater Midland Football League Super Bowl. This season I  coached the 6th grade Colts cheerleaders. My niece, Alissa, was on the squad. The girls did a great job performing their halftime show!

5 Days of Fun at the Lake

Wednesday, November 4 we headed to the lake. Our plan was to stay only Wednesday and Thursday night and go back to Midland for the weekend so Matt could be back for opening weekend of deer hunting season. However once we got down there and started enjoying the great weather and taking the peacefulness of the lake in we decided to stay until Sunday. So our two days at the lake turned into five days of fun. I was enjoying our time at the lake and Matt really did not want to leave the lake either but I think he could not go without hunting the first weekend of the season. He ended up going hunting with his cousin, Andy, who lives there so it all worked out. We had a great time and we love going to the lake this time of the year.

Thursday morning Hodge fed the ducks!

On Nov. 5, 2009 Hodge turned 15 months!

Thursday night we had dinner in Desdemona, Texas at Boom Town. Desdemona is only 12 miles from the lake. Boom Town has really good catfish and Hodge loves it! He ate so much that night.

He loves the catfish!

Still eating the catfish! He likes it with tarter sauce.

Washing it down with some cold milk!

Hodge made a new friend at the lake.

His name is Blue and Hodge would yell Blue Blue.

The first thing Hodge wanted to do when we got to the lake was take a four wheeler ride. So he took many rides during our 5 days down there. I took this photo while we were packing up the car. Hodge really wanted to go on another ride so he was trying to start it.

One more ride with daddy before we head back to Midland.

Hodge and Meme

Monday, November 2 Hodge and I visited with Meme at her retirement center. Meme is Hodge's great grandmother and Matt's grandmother.

Meme took us on a walk around her place. Hodge loved it!

After our walk Hodge had fun pushing Meme's walker around her patio.

Halloween Weekend

Pawpaw and Memaw came to see us the weekend of Halloween. Saturday there was a car show at a church near our house. Pawpaw loves car shows so we all went.

Hodge and Pawpaw looking at the cars!!!

Hodge trick or treating at his Teadaddy's and Yaya's.

Hodge had fun playing with all the candy we had for the trick or treaters.

My mom and Hodge had so much fun handing out the candy!  When all the kids starting coming to the door Hodge wanted his costume back on. We had taking it off of him and he made my mom put it back on. He loved his costume!
