Memorial Day Weekend! Really more like a week.

We headed to the lake last Wednesday and ended up staying a week. It rained the first part of the weekend  but it started to look more like summer the longer we stayed. Hodge had fun and we are officially ready for Summer 2009 at Lake Leon!

Hodge loves to swing!
It looks like he is on a ride at an amusement park.
Happy Lake Baby!
We took a lot of naps when it was raining.
I was napping with them but I had to get up and take this photo!
This was what the weather looked like at first.
Overcast and Raining, but the rain is a good thing. We need the rain!
 Napping again!
On Monday the sun came out!
Hodge having some fun!
Hodge loves to watch me ride the Jet Ski.
I need a tan!
Matt went to town to get something from Walmart and came back with Superman pajamas for Hodge!

Hodge loves to ride the four wheeler around the lake with Matt. This is also a great way to put little Superman to bed! An evening ride does the trick!
We got up early and headed back to Midland and of course the Lake was so beautiful this morning.
On our way back to Midland, Hodge loves Cheerios!

What an Honor!

On May 19th Matt and Hodge were able to attend the Junior League of Midland Annual Meeting. I was awarded the Hand in Hand Award.  I really cannot describe what an honor it was to receive this award! I do not understand how the JLM executive team can select one member to receive this award. This year there were so many volunteers who worked hard to serve our community and make a difference in Midland. It was really special to have Matt and Hodge there when they announced I was the recipient. As I was walking up to receive the award Matt and Hodge came into the ballroom. They had been waiting outside until they announced the award. Matt said that Hodge enjoyed the cheese and crackers platter outside the ballroom and had his first taste of cantaloupe. He really liked it! There was another event taking place that night at Midland Country Club and Matt said that every lady that walked by had to talk to Hodge and that he loved it! Hodge is such a people person.  This was a fun evening and I feel very blessed to be a part of this wonderful organization!

Dinner and Bath Time Daddy Style!!

It is always funny to me when Matt gives Hodge a bath, I call it Daddy Style! Water is everywhere and Hodge better hold on because it is a rough bath. But I guess that is why God gave us a boy, he can take it.  After Hodge's bath Matt put Hodge's pajamas on him backwards. I cannot complain, he is bathing and clothing him!

First Time Swimming!

Hodge went swimming for the first time today. We had so much fun and he did great!! We have starting going to a playgroup and one of the little boys in the playgroup had all of us over to swim today. Hodge also had his 9 month well check appointment this morning and everything looked good.  His pediatrician said that he needed to be around more kids so the playgroup is perfect! I am glad he liked the water because lake season is right around the corner. Only one week until Memorial Day weekend. I hope he likes the lake as much as he liked the swimming pool.

This was Hodge after the swim playgroup!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Here are a few photos Matt took of Hodge and I on Mother's Day! I had a great first mother's day with my guys. Matt bought me a new pair of sunglasses just like the ones I lost in the lake a few weeks ago. He also got me a massage from Carla Harless. Carla was our Birth Doula and I took prenatal yoga from her. I also got a lot of prenatal massages from her during my pregnancy. I was getting a massage about once a week during the last month of my pregnancy. Since I had Hodge I have only had two massages, one a few weeks after Hodge was born and one on my birthday. So this was something I asked for from Matt. I am a big spa person, I love spending time getting massages, facials, anything spa like. However now that I have Hodge I really do not even think about taking time out to do these things. I would rather spend my time with Hodge. Don't get me wrong I will enjoy my time getting my massage but I just hate to take time away from him. I guess this is what mother's day is all about. I really do enjoy changing diapers, making Hodge happy when he is crying and every aspect of being a mom. Before being a mom I would always have my makeup on and I always wore a pair of high heels. My suits were all dry cleaned and I was always shopping for new cloths for work.  Now I wear workout attire most days and I put my makeup on as fast as I can. I no longer shop for suits but now I find myself shopping for Hodge even if I have gone shopping for myself. I still like to wear makeup and high heels but my priorities have just changed. I feel so blessed to have Hodge as my son. The past 9 months have been so fun and rewarding!  I am taking everyday in and enjoying my new role in life, being Hodge's mom

Hodge's 9 month photos and his dogs!

Hodge had his 9 month photos taken this past week. The photographer has posted some of the photos on her blog. They are great, she did such a wonderful job. Take a look.

I have also posted some photos of Hodge, Jack and our Metal Dog. What Metal Dog? I bought this decorative metal dog a few years ago and only children notice it in our home. Kids will always want to play with it and think it is so funny. I love it that my child likes to play with the metal dog now. I really think the metal dog needs a name. Please help me come up with a name for him. Post your suggestions on my comments below. Enjoy the photos!

The Metal Dog was not harmed in these photos.

Hodge was crawling around so much today that I had to put his baby leggings on him.

First the Metal Dog's head comes off

Then his tail, don't worry he goes back together.

Jack always takes his toy to Hodge in hopes he will play fetch.

Jack sometimes takes a break from Hodge on the storage ottoman!

Hodge really likes the Metal Dog!!!
The metal dog needs a name.

Hodge is 9 months old!!!!

Hodge is 9 months old today and we have some new things to share. He has two teeth coming in and he is crawling! Hodge can get around pretty good these days. I also bought him some flip-flops for the summer. His Aunt Stacy, who lives in southern California, will appreciate that they are Quiksilver flip-flops. Enjoy the photos!

Jumping in for Jack!

I had to jump in the lake Friday evening and save my little dog. I was down on our new dock with my 3 nieces who are 3, 5 and 11 years old. Hodge was also on the dock with us having a great time. This photo was taken right before Jack fell in.  Alissa, my niece, had nothing to do with it.  She was just fishing and minding her own business. Jack was running and jumping around like a wild little dog! Needless to say the water is still pretty cold and he had a look of fear in his eyes as he was trying to get back to the dock. Everyone on the lake that evening could hear us yelling when the mishap took place. It was pretty funny after we were both safely back on the dock but the worst part of the whole thing was that I had my new Maui Jim sunglasses on my head that are now at the bottom of the lake. Oh well I had to save my little dog.  I have included a few photos of Hodge on the dock. I did not get any photos of Maggie and Kaylee but they did witness the event.

Hodge also enjoyed a big breakfast at the lake!
