Pumpkin Patch with the Cousins

Friday evening we went to the Pumpkin Patch to get a few pumpkins and a few photos with Hodge's cousins. Kaylee was Snow White, Hodge was a baby giraffe, Alissa was a cheerleader, Clayton was a dinosaur, Summer was a flower, and Maggie was an angel.

Children's Day Out Art Project and Staying with Yaya and Teadaddy.

When I picked Hodge up from Children's Day Out Thursday he had an art project for me. This was his first art project! Each kid stamped their paper with a real pumpkin and used their little fingers to make the stem. I think it is so cute!!!

Hodge showing off his pumpkin art work.

He was very proud of his art work!

Starting to get tired of me taking photos.

Thursday night Matt and I went to our Bible Study and Hodge stayed with his Yaya and Teadaddy (Matt's mom and dad).

Hodge loves to play with the big Legos at Yaya's and Teadaddy's.

Just a few fall pictures I took of Hodge the other day. He was having fun running around while I tried to snap a few photos of him.

A Fun Fall Weekend!

This weekend was a fun fall weekend.  Last weekend was a wash because we stayed home and did not leave the house so Hodge could get better.  I did not leave the house for almost a week. So it was nice to have a busy week and weekend! Saturday morning we took family photos with Matt's family. After that I went to the Home for the Holidays event. This is a really neat event for women that Crestview Baptist Church puts together every year. I had never been before but I am so happy that I went. (Thanks Kim S. for inviting me to sit at your table for the luncheon!) There were at least 1,000 women at this event! After hearing the great speakers and singers I went home and got Hodge ready for a kids Halloween party! Our friend Susan had a party for her grandkids and some friends. It was such a cute party for kids. Hodge had a great time and he took a long nap after the party.

Sunday we went to church and after that we just relaxed and stayed home. My friend, Becky and her youngest daughter were in town visiting her family. She came over Sunday afternoon. Becky grew up in Odessa but she lives in Katy, Texas now with her husband Brook and their three cute kids, Brady, Brooklyn, and Bella. Becky was my neighbor in the Women's High Rise at Angelo State University. She was one the first people I met in college. It was very ironic that Becky would be in town visiting me that Sunday because the Women's High Rise was imploded that morning. I wished I could have gone down to San Angelo to watch the dorm be imploded. We have such good memories from our days in the  high rise. We had so much fun in our little dorm rooms! Becky and I spent many hours laughing, getting ready to go out and go dancing, and we did very little studying in that dorm. It was a 24 hour party to us! What fun we had!!! I think every young adult should experience dorm living at least one year in college. Becky and I definitely enjoyed the experience and we knew we were having the time of our lives. We would always say to one another how lucky we were to have such care free lives. Our everyday routine would go something like this...............Wake up, eat breakfast, go to class, take a nap, go shopping, study a little, I would have cheer practice, Becky taught dance classes, then we would meet back up at the High Rise and get ready to go out and then go to bed after our fun night out and then we would do it all over again the next day.

Thanks Becky for taking time out of your busy weekend to come visit and thanks for being such a fun and good friend in college!

I got these photos off the San Angelo Standard Times website

What a Week!

On Wednesday Oct. 7 Matt headed to Colorado for his elk hunting trip. Hodge and I really missed him but we stayed busy with friends, family, ASU's homecoming, and Hodge getting H1N1.

Matt and his friends Elk Hunting

On Thursday Oct. 8 my friend from college, Shelbi, her husband and her daughter came to stay with us. Shelbi lives in Florida but still has family in West Texas. She made the trip to Texas because she had a family reunion in Odessa. She was busy with her family reunion on Saturday and Sunday so Hodge and I headed down to San Angelo for ASU's Homecoming! (Click here to check out Roscoe's blog!)

Hodge and I met up with my parents, my brother and my nephew in San Angelo.

Hodge and I got a photo with Dominic the ram at the ASU alumni Ram Jam.

My nephew Ben, me, Hodge and Dominic.

I visited with my friend Mercyla and her family at the Ram Jam. I did not get a photo with Mercyla but here is a photo of her precious baby boy. Kemper was the youngest ASU fan at the Ram Jam!

Mercyla's little girl Amory and Hodge having fun at Ram Jam.

Hodge and I had a quick but fun trip to San Angelo. We headed back to Midland on Sunday and visited with Shelbi and her family.

Hodge and Brenli playing on Sunday. Brenli is Shelbi's little girl.

Hodge the trick horse rider!!!

We had a hard time getting a group photo with the kids.

Shelbi and her family flew back to Florida on Monday morning

H1N1...Really?

Monday evening Hodge started running a temperature. On Tuesday I took him to his pediatrician and guess what Hodge had H1N1. Hodge has never been sick in his life and now he had H1N1! So at this point both Hodge and I were really ready for Matt to come home. Matt drove all night and got home around 4:30 a.m.Wednesday morning. Hodge is doing much better and is getting back to normal. Matt is glad to be home and Hodge and I  are so happy he is back.

Another Devine Weekend!

October 1 we were on the road again.  We went to South Texas to visit my family. We had just been there for my 15 year reunion but my sister was in Devine for the weekend because she was having her 20 year reunion. We could not miss seeing Hodge's Aunt Stacy, she lives in San Diego so we don't get to see her as often as we would like. We had a great time and a relaxing weekend.

Friday we visited with Granny.

Hodge and Stacy running up and down the halls at Granny's Assisted Living.

I guess Hodge finally got tired.

After dinner that evening my dad had a surprise for Hodge. TWINKIES! I don't think Twinkies are organic.

Saturday morning my dad, Matt and Hodge went down to the ranch.

Only a grandfather would let his 1 year old grandson play with the tractor loader. I don't think Matt has even got to drive my dad's tractors.

This child is spoiled by his Pawpaw.

When Hodge got back from the ranch his cousin Shannon and Sabrina were at my parents house waiting to visit with him.

He showed them his rocking horse or as we call it "The Bucking Horse"

Saturday night Aunt Stacy had her reunion party. Dan and Stacy posed for some photos.

Sunday we headed back to Midland.

We made a stop in Ozona to get some DQ. I took this photo because the lantana plants in front of the DQ were beautiful. The Monarch butterflies must have been migrating because they were all around the plants. You cannot see the butterflies in the photo. I enjoyed seeing all the butterflies and Hodge and I also enjoyed our Dip Cone (Dipped Cone)!
